Emily Bowman graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Evolutionary Psychology in 2002. She has a unique background in counseling psychology and in applying human resources applications in a healthcare setting. Her career began after graduation as an Addiction Counselor where she provided wellness therapy to a caseload of clients recovering from opiate dependence. Additionally, she spent time as an Employment Specialist working with individuals living with major mental health disorders, assisting and educating her consumer base with gaining and maintaining employment.
In 2006 she began her career with UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Human Resources where she spent 10 years on the recruitment and employee relations teams. She joins RareMed providing human resources guidance to senior leadership in the implementation of HR principles. She has streamlining the talent acquisition process and continuously manages and evaluates the changing department structures in the creation and reclassification of necessary job roles and functions needed to sustain strategic growth. She created the employee on-boarding program, and regulatory HR audit processes. She has developed the company’s first performance management policy and merit increase program and continues to create and bring necessary structure to all HR policies, procedures and programs.
